ISLAMABAD – On Monday, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain challenged the Sharif family to provide a money trail for the purchase of the Avenfield properties rather than creating claims.

The minister stated he had seen a weird news item in a tweet on the social-networking site Twitter.

He inquired as to where Nawaz Sharif obtained the funds for the purchase of the Avenfield Apartments, which were afterwards presented to Maryam Nawaz. He asked that the Sharifs furnish a money trail for the Avenfield Apartments.

Maryam Nawaz used to remark, “I don’t own any property in London or in Pakistan,” according to Fawad.

Shehbaz Sharif, the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the opposition leader in the National Assembly (NA), later remarked that the explosive news report reveals a thick layer of a great conspiracy to assassinate party supremo Nawaz Sharif and vice president Maryam Nawaz.

“Allah has His own method of disclosing the truth,” the PML-N leader said on Twitter. It’s another another victory in the court of public opinion for Nawaz Sharif and Maryam.”

Former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar, on the other side, stated that the story published about him is false.
