According to state media, Israeli surface-to-surface missiles killed three civilians near Damascus on Friday, citing a military source.
“The Israeli enemy carried out an offensive… that resulted in the deaths of three martyrs and some material losses,” the source told Syria’s official news agency, SANA.
According to the military source, the missiles were fired from Israel’s occupied Golan Heights and were intercepted by Syrian air defences.
In the evening, AFP journalists in Damascus reported hearing unusually loud booms.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the three officers killed were officers, while four other members of the air defence team were injured.
