India’s argument to the International Court of Arbitration’s jurisdiction over the Kishanganga Hydroelectric Project was dismissed by the International Court of Arbitration in The Hague.

According to sources, the court certified Pakistan’s case acceptable and would begin hearings on Thursday.

Pakistan had approached the court after India commenced construction of the Kishanganga and Ratle dams, which impacted the country’s water supplies. India petitioned the court to withdraw the case from the judicial body’s jurisdiction.

The legal body has conditionally approved India to make adjustments to the Kishanganga project’s design.
