Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), did not travel to London following his escape from custody, according to acting Federal Minister for Information Murtaza Solangi, and will be treated legally upon his return.
The caretaker minister said that Nawaz had served as the nation’s prime minister three times and was the Quaid of a significant political party while addressing a news conference on the occasion of his visit to the Karachi news Club (KPC).
He claimed that he had authorization from the court and the previous administration to travel overseas rather than after escaping from jail.
Nawaz will either obtain protected bail or file a court motion, according to Solangi, who said that the PML-N Quaid or the nation’s laws and Constitution would have to decide if Nawaz would do either.
He said that, in accordance with the Constitution, the elected officials of the nation will manage its affairs.
The timing of his comment coincides with Nawaz’s announcement that he will return to Pakistan on October 21 to oversee the party’s election campaign. Nawaz has been residing in London since November 2019 due to health reasons.
He resigned as prime minister of the nation in 2017 after the Supreme Court permanently barred him from holding public office for failing to disclose a receive able wage.
