ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – A Session’s courts condemned former minister Fawad Chaudhry to Adiala prison on judicial detention in a fraud case on Wednesday.
Fawad was brought before Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mehmood after his physical remand expired.
The police in Abpara had filed a fraud case against him.
Fawad’s lawyer, Qamar Inayat, asked the court to release him from his restraints. He stated that he also petitioned the court yesterday, but nothing came of it.
The judge granted his plea to have the shackles removed.
When Advocate Inayat asked some time for consulting, the court approved a 15-minute pause.
Following the break, Fawad informed the court that it was the third hearing and that the complainant in the case had yet to appear.
The court was again recessed for 10 minutes, and when the session began, the judge read the decision, which sentenced him to 14 days in Adiala Jail.
