ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa dismissed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) protest against his appointment to the broader bench that is considering the electoral Commission’s (ECP) appeal against the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) ruling on the establishment of electoral tribunals.

The PTI’s advocate, Niazullah Niazi, opposed to the chief justice’s membership on the bench, stating that his client feels he shouldn’t. Salman Akram Raja’s attorney, Hamid Khan, submitted a plea for delay.

The Chief Justice rejected the objection, declaring that the present bench will move forward with the hearing and the case.
