ISLAMABAD – Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa has stated that if the review petitions challenging the Supreme Court’s decision on the reserved seats matter are not resolved promptly, it will be unfair and unjust.
The three-judge Practice and Procedure Committee met on July 18, and Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa requested that the ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) review petition against the reserved seats verdict be given an urgent hearing date. The minutes of that meeting were made available by Pakistan’s Supreme Court on Saturday.
The original 13-member bench’s majority of judges, according to Justices Syed Mansoor Ali Shah and Munib Akhtar, were on vacation and were waiting on a detailed order, so they opposed it.
