LAHORE – On Tuesday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) summoned the Investigation Officer (IO) of the Sambrial Police Station in Sialkot district in connection with the kidnapping of Sambrial Press Club Chairman Rana Shahid Mahmood.
The ruling was issued by Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh of the LHC in response to a plea filed by the son of the journalist who went missing in Sambrial.
The judge ordered the police to bring Rana Shahid Mahmood before the court and adjourned the case to August 6, 2024.
The directions came after authorities were unable to locate Rana Shahid Mahmood, who was kidnapped at midnight on July 1, 2024, from a local café in Sambrial.
