ISLAMABAD: A heavy monsoon spell struck the nation in the early hours of Thursday, flooding some portions of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. This prompted the government to declare an emergency in the capital and garrison cities.
The Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) issued an alarm as a result of the rising water level in Lai Nullah.
During the rainstorm, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has mandated that the drain be cleared.
In the meantime, patches of rain kept lashing Karachi and Lahore, making the weather comfortable.
