RAWALPINI – According to the ISPR, security forces successfully foiled an infiltration attempt by a gang of 16 terrorists attempting to enter the nation over the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan’s Ghulam Khan Kili district.

According to the ISPR, security personnel tracked the infiltrators’ movements on the night of March 22-23 and responded quickly and effectively, killing all 16 terrorists in a fierce exchange of fire.

Pakistan has reaffirmed its demand that the Afghan interim government boost border security and prohibit the exploitation of Afghan territory for terrorist attacks against Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the soldiers for their successful operation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to national security and the battle against terrorism.

Terrorist assaults in Pakistan increased by 42% in January 2025 compared to the previous month, according to statistics from the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS).

The research identified 74 extremist assaults around the country, resulting in 91 deaths, including 35 security officers, 20 civilians, and 36 militants. Additionally, 117 persons were injured, including 53 security officers, 54 civilians, and 10 militants.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) remains the most impacted province, followed by Balochistan. In KP’s populated districts, terrorists launched 27 strikes, killing 19 people, including 11 security officers, six civilians, and two militants.
