ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday asked all party members to take to the streets after Isha prayers to protest the “imported government” after police prevented PTI workers from organising a demonstration at Sialkot venue, according to Channel News.

In the early hours of Saturday, police launched an investigation against PTI workers for organising a public meeting in a Sialkot ground owned by the Christian community without their permission.

The Sialkot government denied the PTI’s request for a political meeting on private land and gave them many alternatives for another location.

After party activists continued to prepare for the gathering, the authorities intervened and detained PTI leader Usman Dar and other local officials.

Imran Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said on Twitter that he will arrive in Sialkot today at whatever cost and address a mass assembly.

“There is no question that I will be travelling to Sialkot today.” “What the imported government did in Sialkot against our leaders and workers is disgusting, but not surprising,” he remarked.

“This set of criminals on bail and their convicted mafia master in London have always used fascist techniques against opponents when they are in power-storming of the Supreme Court, Model Town killings, buying judges, NS attempting to call himself Amir ul Momineen,” Imran Khan stated.
He further said that “imported governments” utilise and abuse democracy when they are in opposition and completely obliterate all democratic principles when they are in power.

“Our government has never halted any of their jalsas, sit-ins, or demonstrations because we are devoted to democracy,” he claimed, urging party workers to come out and demonstrate against the “fascist imported goverment” after Isha prayers.
