After the May 9 violence, former special assistant to Punjab Chief Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan chose to leave the party on Friday.

Ms Awan, speaking at a news conference, criticised the events of May 9. She said the damage at Zaman Park was premeditated.

“A foreign agenda conspiracy was hatched aimed at dishonouring the country’s institutions and pleasing foreign masters,” she alleged.

Ms Awan stated that she was leaving the PTI due to the party’s aggressive and terrorist actions.
