Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa MP Ikramullah Gandapur also left the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Sunday.

At a news conference in Peshawar, he stated that he opposed the events of May 9 and that those participating in rioting should be punished. He also stated that his family stuck with the PTI following his uncle’s martyrdom, emphasising that his father remained with the party through thick and thin.

“This country exists because of the army,” he said, adding that he had witnessed a variety of tough conditions, but as a Pakistani, he was no longer associated with the PTI following the May 9 event.
