Justice Umar Ata Bandial, the Chief Justice of Pakistan, reconfigured a seven-member bench on Thursday to hear appeals against the prosecution of civilians in military courts after top judges, including Justice Qazi Faez Isa, withdrew from the case.
At 1:30 PM, the hearing will resume. Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Ayesha Malik, Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi, Justice Ijazul Ahsan, and Justice Muneeb Akhtar will be part of the new seven-member bench led by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial.
Aitzan Ahsan and Justice (retired) Jawwad S. Khawaja had earlier begun hearing arguments in the Supreme Court regarding their petitions opposing the trial of civilians in military courts.
