The fraternal people and government of Turkey joined Pakistan on Saturday to celebrate the seventh anniversary of Democracy and National Unity Day, which is marked today, according to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

The prime minister said on his Twitter account that the Turkish people, while remembering their supreme sacrifices, paid rich tribute to and respect to the heroes who heroically opposed the evil attempt to deny them democracy and fundamental rights.

“This historic and epoch-making day in 2016 also represented unwavering faith & profound trust in the dynamic leadership of my brother President Recep Tayyip Erdogan,” he continued.
