ISLAMABAD: According to The News on Saturday, the government has named Dr. Syrus Sajjad Qazi as the new foreign secretary to succeed Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, who will step down from his position on August 17 after reaching the age of superannuation.

Currently serving as the special secretary of Foreign Affairs is Dr. Syrus Qazi, a grade-22 senior foreign service officer.

He has a wealth of knowledge in both bilateral and multilateral diplomacy at his disposal.

He was chosen for the overseas service since he was a King Edward Medical College of Lahore graduate.
