ISLAMABAD (Channel NewsPakistan) Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former prime minister, has demanded nationwide demonstrations after being convicted guilty in the Toshakhana-II case.

Imran Khan stated through his legal team that the result was not unexpected and that it was just another politically influenced ruling. The former premier has no direct access to social media because of his detention. But according to a message purportedly written by him and circulated by accounts connected to the PTI, he had told Sohail Afridi, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to be ready for a public demonstration.

According to reports, Khan stated, “The nation must stand up for its constitutional rights,” and his legal team was instructed to launch an appeal against the ruling straight away.

Khan criticized the trial procedure, saying the decision was handed out quickly and did not comply with the law. He claimed that his defense was not sufficiently heard and that no reliable evidence was offered. He said that the conviction was one of several “baseless decisions” that had been made during the previous three years.

In an official statement, the PTI vehemently denounced the decision, declaring it to be illegitimate, unconstitutional, and an obvious instance of political victimization. Party officials contended that the conviction was intended to stifle political dissent and extend Khan’s incarceration.

PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja stated at a news conference that Imran Khan had sent a clear message of resistance, emphasizing that he would not yield to pressure or ask for pardon.
