RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), stated Friday that the Pakistan Armed Force’s position on the events of May 9 is unambiguous.
Speaking at a news conference in Rawalpindi, DG ISPR stated that the May 9 events reflect the feelings of the whole country and are not simply a case for the military.
“The fabric of society is at risk if armed groups impose their will without legal intervention,” he said.
According to a Pakistan Army spokeswoman, several cases from May 9 were moved to military tribunals in 2023 in response to orders from the judiciary.
Military tribunals used the law to convict those responsible for the May 9 assaults.
