ISLAMABAD: According to Channel News, an explosion ripped through a police post along I-9 in the federal capital.
The event occurred in the early hours of Friday, when some explosive substance triggered a detonation near the exterior wall of the I-9 police station. Officials stated that no one was wounded in the incident.
According to accounts, a duty officer at the police station heard a boom late at night. At first, the officer dismissed the occurrence as just the sound of a tyre exploding.
However, when police officers arrived at the scene in the morning, they discovered that the explosion was caused by some explosive stuff.
The cops gathered evidence at the site and discovered metal fragments near the wall. Further inquiry is underway.
This isn’t the first time an incident like this has occurred in Islamabad; in 2022, a suicide assault in the I-10 area killed at least one police officer and wounded several more.
Meanwhile, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) captured two suspected terrorists in the Al-Manzar district of Hyderabad today.
According to CTD officials, the suspects intended to attack the Rangers’ cars in the region.
During the raid, the suspects were found in possession of two hand grenades and other explosive items.
Taj Muhammad and Perel have been recognized as terrorists, according to the CTD in charge.
Authorities launched a detailed investigation to learn more about the suspects’ goals and affiliations.
