LAHORE (Web Desk) – Pakistan against Ireland and Scotland vs the West Indies will begin the qualifying campaign in Lahore on April 9, ahead of the women’s ODI World Cup, which will be held in India in October of this year. Bangladesh and Thailand, the other two teams competing in the six-team tournament, will meet off the next day.

Pakistan, Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, Thailand, and the West Indies will battle for the remaining two berths in the main World Cup.

Apart from India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka have already qualified for the World Cup, with the top two teams from the qualifying competition filling the remaining seats.

The games will be held at the newly renovated Gaddafi Stadium and the Lahore City Cricket Association fields. The warm-up matches will take place on April 5 and 7, following the arrival of the visiting teams in Lahore on April 3. The last series of games will be played on April 19.

The schedule was officially released today, March 14, just over three weeks before the tournament began, though three boards – West Indies, Ireland, and Bangladesh – had already announced the dates and venues in an unofficial capacity when announcing their season’s fixtures and, in the case of Bangladesh, their squad for the event.

This is Pakistan’s second ICC competition, following the Champions Trophy, and all of the matches will take place in the nation. Lahore is the only city utilized for the event, as no PSL matches would be played there till April 24. The competition starts on April 11 in Rawalpindi.

As previously reported, Pakistan will not go to India to play their matches if they qualify for the Champions Trophy, due to a reciprocal agreement reached between the BCCI and the PCB before to the event earlier this year. These matches will be held at a neutral location.

India will host the women’s ODI World Cup for the sixth time in 2025, and the first since 2011. It will also be the first global women’s competition to be hosted in India since 2016, when the T20 World Cup coincided with the men’s event. The 2025 season will be similar to the 2022 edition, with eight teams participating and playing a total of 31 matches.
