LAHORE (Channel News Pakistan) – In an attempt to get illegal foreigners out of the dorms, the Punjab University administration and police have started a massive operation.
The operation resulted in the arrest of dozens of unlawful aliens.
17 hostels for men and 17 for women were the targets of the operation. Until April 8, the hostels would be closed.
The management of the institution also warned all students about this.
According to the management, some hostels had been held by student groups for decades, and new occupants were denied places despite the hostels’ capacity of 8,000 students.
On April 8, 2025, all university residence halls would be closed until 7 a.m., and courses and tests would start up again on April 9.
