ISLAMABAD (Channel News Pakistan) Section 144 was implemented in Islamabad and Rawalpindi after Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi launched a protest today in retaliation to being denied a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan.

Following the KP chief minister’s call to protest, the administrations in Islamabad and Rawalpindi declared a total ban on protests, rallies, sit-ins, and public gatherings. Section 144 also makes it illegal to exhibit guns, use loudspeakers, or deliver hate remarks.

The district administrations have declared that legal action would be taken against demonstrators, and people are encouraged to avoid engaging in any illegal gatherings.
