Following an increase in COVID-19 instances around Islamabad, the federal government of Pakistan has proposed closing 14 additional schools.

According to information, Dr Zaeem Zia, the District Health Officer (DHO), has issued a letter to the authorities requesting that fourteen additional schools in Islamabad be closed owing to rising COVID-19 positive.

According to the DHO, COVID-19 instances have been found at 151 educational facilities throughout Islamabad, of which 137 have been shut and some have reopened.

The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) chose to keep limitations in place for the education sector.
