It is a well-known truth that Khawaja Asif did not affect the public finances.

LAHORE: On Wednesday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) handed down its decision on PML-N leader Khawaja Asif’s bail application.
The LHC granted bail to the PML-N leader two weeks ago in a case brought by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), which accuses him of money laundering and possessing assets not related to his known sources of income.
The 18-page decision was handed down on Wednesday by a two-member LHC bench led by Justice Aalia Neelam.
According to the court’s ruling, the investigating officer’s report shows that the inquiry into Asif is still underway. According to the ruling, the NAB prosecutor stated that the reference against Khawaja Asif should be submitted to the NAB chairperson.

The claim of assets in excess of income against Asif is being investigated, according to the 18-page ruling. To far, no charges have been brought against the PML-N leader.
A representative of the UAE-based International Mechanical and Electrical Company (IMECO) requested to visit Pakistan, according to the decision. According to the judgement, the investigating officer did not include the representative of the Dubai firm in the inquiry, and Asif has reported his foreign income on his tax filings.

The court decided that it was a well-known truth that Khawaja Asif had done no harm to the national budget.

According to the court, Asif’s abroad money from 2004 to 2008 was not verified by the NAB’s investigative officer with the embassy.

The written decision also includes PTI leader Usman Dar’s plea to the NAB.
