Hassan Ali, a fast bowler for Pakistan, expressed remorse for the team’s back-to-back losses in the ODI series against England, claiming that changing circumstances may make a difference for the visitors.
The Green Shirts’ top order, which included in-form skipper Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Fakhar Zaman, struggled in both ODIs against England.
Pakistan were bowled out for 195 on Saturday by an excellent England pace attack. The inexperienced hosts blasted the Men in Green by 52 runs to take a 2-0 series lead and win the series.
Ali, who is rediscovering his form, said he batted to get Pakistan back into the game.
“Yes, the scenario could’ve been a little different if I had kept on and not lost my wicket,” the bowler remarked in his post-match press conference.
“With my striking, I attempted to put England on the back foot, but I was unsuccessful. It may have been different if I had remained.”
In the last Quaid-e-Azam trophy, Ali began to regain his lost form. His five-wicket haul in the Lord’s One-Day International is his sixth in international cricket this year.
