ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (APP) – Over 100 former ambassadors have asked the government to add the killer’s name to the Exit Control List (ECL) after he murdered a former envoy’s daughter.

In a statement released by its Secretary General, Ambassador Sanaullah, the Association of Former Ambassadors (AFA) of Pakistan strongly denounced the brutal murder of former Ambassador Shaukat Ali Mukaddam’s daughter Noor Mukaddam and demanded “exemplary punishment” for the killer.

On Tuesday, Noor Mukadam, the 27-year-old daughter of Shaukat Mukadam, was found killed at a home in the capital’s affluent Sector F-7/4.

The diplomats were concerned that the killer may be forced to flee the country by using his dual nationality.

As a result, the Association requests that his name be added to the ECL to guarantee that he does not utilise his family’s position and influence to flee the nation, according to the statement.

The previous ambassadors expressed their “disgust and outrage” at the terrible crime and urged Pakistan’s Chief Justice to take action to guarantee that justice is served.

They also asked the police and prosecutor to get all of the suspect’s past medical and criminal records.

“Supervision of this case would aid in reducing Islamabad’s unacceptably high crime against women,” they stated.

The Association praised the Foreign Minister’s personal message of condolences to the deceased family, as well as the Foreign Secretary’s attendance at the burial.

There was no eyewitness in the Noor Muqaddam murder case, according to Islamabad police authorities.

SSP Investigation Atta-ur-Rehman, who is in charge of the investigation, told a news conference in Islamabad on Thursday that the culprit has been arrested from the murder scene and is being interrogated.

He said that all of the incident’s forensic evidence had been obtained, and that the victim had been brutally murdered.

Ata-ur-Rehman continued, “Police took action and detained the accused after being notified,” adding that the accused is being interrogated and his two security guards’ statements have been recorded.

According to the SSP investigation, false information about the case is being circulated, and our whole emphasis is on the event.
