ISLAMABAD – On Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan started a nationwide monsoon planting effort in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister spoke on the occasion and urged people to fully engage in the tree-planting effort in order to increase the country’s forest cover.
He stated it’s sad that our forest cover is so low when compared to other nations in the area since this issue has been neglected in the past. He stated that in order to combat global warming and mitigate the effects of pollution, Pakistan must go green.
If everyone plants at least one sapling in the next three weeks, according to the Prime Minister, it will bring about a major revolution. Imran Khan further stated that he has instructed the commissioners and deputy commissioners to ensure that vacant places in cities be planted. Our goal, he stated, is to leave a better Pakistan for future generations.
Imran Khan said that the government’s ten-billion-tree Tsunami project and one-billion-tree plantation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are well-known across the world. Pakistan, he added, is now regarded as a leading country that is working to reduce carbon emissions.
