ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Prime Minister Imran Khan appeared before the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) on Wednesday in connection with a case involving the tragedy at Peshawar’s Army Public School (APS), promising to take action against those found guilty of carelessness in their duties.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmed questioned Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the steps taken in the aftermath of the APS massacre at a three-member bench hearing. The PM stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was in power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) at the time of the attack, and that an emergency meeting was conducted to discuss the tragic tragedy.

He said that the National Action Plan (NAP) was formulated in the aftermath of the incident, and that he had cautioned the authorities not to interfere in the US war during Pervez Musharraf’s reign. He underlined that no one is above the law.

You place an order, and we will fulfil it; the CJP is assured to be the best.

You’ve brought the criminals to the negotiating table. Will we have to sign another surrender document? Justice Qazi Mohammad Amin Ahmed enquired.

Meanwhile, Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan stated that the parents of the killed children are demanding that the rulers of the time be brought to justice. He stated that the PM should meet with the parents and listen to their concerns since their satisfaction is essential.

The court then adjourned the hearing and ordered the government to submit the PM’s court statement and progress report to the court within four weeks.
