Mehwish Hayat, an actor and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz award, is speaking out against Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi.

On Wednesday, the actor took to social media to criticise the Indian film industry for portraying Muslims.

“Sooryavanshi” is the newest Bollywood film to promote Islamophobia. “The tide is shifting in Hollywood, and I hope that those across the border will follow suit,” Mehwish stated on her Instagram Stories.

In addition, the actor urged Bollywood to use its films to “create bridges” rather than “hate.”
“As I previously stated, if not favourable images, at the very least be fair in your portrayal of Muslims.” “Build bridges, not walls,” Mehwish Hayat said.

Earlier, Rohit Shetty addressed the backlash around the Muslim villains in the Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif film.
“If I ask you one thing, Jaykant Shikre (the antagonist in Singham, played by Prakash Raj) was a Hindu, and then there was a Hindu Godman who was the evil in this universe (Rohit Shetty’s police universe, which encompasses Singham, Singham Returns, and Simmba). Durva Yashwant Ranade (Sonu Sood) was a Maharashtrian in Simmba.

The antagonists in these three flicks were Hindus. “How come it wasn’t a problem?” Shetty stated.
