Calls for genocide could spark civil war in India; Muslims would fight back: Naseeruddin Shah

ISLAMABAD (APP) – Naseeruddin Shah, one of the most well-known Bollywood actors, has warned of civil war in Narendra Modi’s India if attempts at Muslim genocide and ethnic cleansing continue.

“If it comes down to it, we’ll fight back… We’ll do it if it comes to it. In an interview with noted Indian journalist Karan Thapar for The Wire, an Indian news website, the actor remarked, “We are defending our homes, our families, and our children.”

“I wonder whether they know what they’re talking about?” he remarked of members of the Dharam Sansad, who called for genocide and ethnic cleansing a few days ago in Haridwar. 200 million people will fight back. We have a place here. We were born and raised here, and we will continue to live here.”

According to the Wire, he suggested it may lead to a “civil war.”

According to the website, a significant group of religious leaders, right-wing activists, hardcore fundamentalist militants, and Hindutva organisations gathered in Haridwar between December 17 and 19 for an event named the ‘Dharma Sansad,’ or ‘Religious Parliament.’ This event saw an enormous outpouring of hate speech, violent mobilizations, and anti-Muslim animosity over the course of three days.

“How does it feel to be a Muslim in Narendra Modi’s India?” he was asked. “Muslims are being marginalised and made superfluous,” he responded.

He claimed that Muslims were being relegated to second-class citizens, and that this was occurring in every sector.

“A systematic effort is being made to make Muslims insecure,” he told the interviewer.

“It’s an attempt to terrify us,” he explained. “However, we should not be afraid,” he continued.
“There is an attempt to spread phobia among Muslims,” but “we must not accept that this is frightening us.” In response to a query, he stated that he did not feel insecure because it was his house, but he was concerned about his children’s future.

Naseeruddin Shah remarked that Prime Minister Modi “doesn’t care” about the bloodcurdling calls for genocide and ethnic cleansing, adding that “at least you can’t accuse him of being a hypocrite.”

“Not only is there no chastisement of those who promised genocide,” Naseeruddin Shah remarked, “but the Prime Minister follows them on Twitter.”

“Our leader remains silent while claiming to care for everyone,” he stated. “He’ll flaunt his own religious convictions while snarling at Muslims.”
Naseeruddin Shah’s “strong interview,” according to The Wire, must be heard and seen.

“It can’t be described or written about.” Few, if any, Bollywood stars of Naseeruddin Shah’s calibre have taken such a stand. That alone distinguishes it as a unique and rare interview.”
“This is our state now,” Swami Prabodhanand Giri, chief of the Hindu Raksha Sena, a right-wing organisation based in Uttarakhand, told the Dharam Sansad participants.

You may have witnessed this at the Delhi border, when Hindus were slaughtered and hung. There is no more time; you must either prepare to die now or prepare to kill; there is no other option. This is why, as in Myanmar, the police, politicians, soldiers, and every Hindu must take up arms, and we will have to carry out this cleaning campaign (safai abhiyan). There is no other way to solve the problem.”

Sadhvi Annapurna aka Pooja Shakun Pandey, a mahamandleshwar of the Niranjani Akhara and general secretary of the Hindu Mahasabha, also issued a call to arms and incited genocide at the Dharam Sansad.

She stated unequivocally that she supports the mass extermination of Muslims.

“Without weapons, nothing is possible.” Kill them if you wish to get rid of their population. Prepare to kill and to serve time in prison. We will be triumphant and go to jail even if 100 of us are willing to kill 20 lakhs of them (Muslims).

The fascist Modi regime’s focused campaign is aimed at ethnic cleansing of all non-Hindu populations, including Christians, Sikhs, and Dalits, as well as Muslims.

As the Christian community prepared to celebrate Christmas, the RSS goons compelled them to hold covert gatherings around the country.

In February, women attended a covert night prayer service at a villager’s house church in Madhya Pradesh. Many Christians in India are trapped by secrecy.

In a series of attacks on the Christian community around Christmas, Christmas celebrations were disrupted, Jesus statues were damaged, and Santa Claus effigies were burned.

Several Christmas activities were targeted by Hindu right-wing groups, accusing them of using celebrations to push Hindus to convert, amid increased intolerance and violence against India’s Christian minority, which makes up approximately 2% of the population.
