Shahzad Akbar on Monday has tendered his resignation as Advisor to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Accountability and Interior.

He made the announcement through his account on social-networking platform Twitter.

In a post, Shahzad Akbar wrote, “I have tendered my resignation today to PM as Advisor. I sincerely hope the process of accountability continues under leadership of PM IK as per PTI’s manifesto.”

He also claimed that he will continue to contribute as a member of the legal fraternity.

Shahzad Akbar was appointed as the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Accountability and the Interior in July 2020. He formerly served as the Premier’s Special Assistant for Home Affairs.
