Prime Minister Imran Khan met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday to address issues of common interest.
In a tweet, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry stated that Prime Minister Imran Khan addressed bilateral ties as well as global trends.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Imran Khan met with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang.
PM Imran was joined by the Ministers of Finance, Planning, Reform, and Special Initiatives, and Information and Broadcasting, as well as top officials.
Congratulating Premier Li on the organisation of the Beijing Winter Olympics, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif stated that strategic connections between Pakistan and China served the basic interests of both nations and were a factor of peace and stability in the region. He went on to say that last year’s successful celebrations of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties gave a fresh boost to mutual friendship.
The prime minister commended the Chinese government for its cooperation and support in dealing with the COVID-19 epidemic, as well as the prompt provision of vaccinations.
Imran Khan praised CPEC’s transformative influence on Pakistan’s infrastructure, energy, socioeconomic growth, and people’s livelihoods. He emphasised Pakistan’s commitment to CPEC’s high-quality development through its mutually reinforcing industrial, commerce, health, digital, and green corridors.
He informed Premier Li of the government’s efforts to provide policy direction and support for further Chinese investment in CPEC SEZs and Special Technology Zones, as well as to ensure the safety and security of Chinese individuals, projects, and institutions in Pakistan.
