ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Prime Minister Imran Khan stated on Friday that the government has all the information about the terrorists’ origins and is pursuing them aggressively.
In a recent Tweet, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that in the aftermath of the barbaric terrorist assault on Peshawar Imambargah, he has been personally monitoring activities and working with the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and other law-enforcement agencies.
Imran Khan also offered his heartfelt condolences to the dead’ families and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
PM Imran continued, “I have urged CM KP to personally visit the families and attend after their requirements.”
A suicide bomber detonated a bomb at a Shiite mosque in Peshawar, northwest Pakistan, earlier today, killing at least 56 people and injuring 194. It was Pakistan’s bloodiest incident since 2018.
Moments before Friday prayers were to begin, a bomb ripped through the Kocha Risaldar neighbourhood of the city, shattering the inside and showering the streets with broken glass.
It happened on the opening day of a cricket Test match between Pakistan and Australia at Rawalpindi, around 190 kilometres (120 miles) to the east. Australia has not toured Pakistan in over a quarter-century due to security concerns.
