The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) prevented Prime Minister Imran Khan from attending a public meeting in Mansehra on Monday.

According to the statement, the Prime Minister’s visit to Manshera is scheduled on March 25, however the ECP has forbidden the PM from attending the rally since it would violate the code of conduct.

According to the ECP statement, the District Monitoring Officer has barred the PM from attending the event. Meanwhile, the ECP has instructed the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to cancel the Prime Minister’s visit to Mansehra.

According to the rule of conduct, public office holders are not permitted to attend rallies or public meetings.
