Fawad Chaudhry, Minister for Information and Broadcasting, said on Friday that the government has decided to submit a petition in court seeking the cancellation of bail for PML-N leaders Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz.

He told the media in Islamabad on Friday, flanked by Energy Minister Hammad Azhar and Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Shahbaz Gill, that both Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz, who are on bail in corruption cases, are vying for the positions of prime minister and Punjab chief minister.

“I was recently informed that the duty of the law ministry has been assigned to me… “I will immediately file applications for the revocation of bail for both Shehbaz and Hamza,” he continued.

According to the minister, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership took careful note of its dissident Members of National Assembly (MNAs) meeting with opposing parties.

He stated that the legal team has concluded its action plan for the dissident MNAs. It would argue before the Supreme Court that the no-trust motion should be investigated as part of a worldwide conspiracy.

It was beyond comprehension how the consciences of 22 PTI MNAs suddenly awakened, he said.
