Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chairman of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and the head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), said on Wednesday that the ruling of National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri should be declared null and void on a priority basis, and MNAs should be given the right to vote to elect a new prime minister.
He told the media on Wednesday that Imran Khan had breached the country’s constitution, and that the next Friday would be designated as “Day of Protection for Constitution,” and that if the constitution was broken, Pakistan’s existence would be jeopardised.
The issue arose as a result of the deputy speaker’s unlawful ruling, according to the PDM chairman, and the turmoil has put Pakistan’s sovereignty at risk.
