According to an ex-agent, Disney pulled Depp from the ‘Pirates’ franchise because to abuse claims

Because of Amber Heard’s domestic abuse charges, Johnny Depp was dismissed from the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, according to his former Hollywood agent, who backed up the actor’s claim against his ex-wife.

In a filmed deposition in Depp’s defamation claim against Heard, Christian Carino, a Creative Arts Agency employee, said, “My judgement is that it was linked to the charges that Amber has made.”

Depp sued Heard for defamation in December 2018 after she penned a column for The Washington Post in which she portrayed herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”

Heard, 36, did not identify Depp, 58, but he sued her for claiming that he was a domestic abuser and is demanding $50 million in damages.

Heard, who was born in Texas, countersued for $100 million, saying she had been subjected to “rampant physical assault and torture” at his hands.

Depp launched the defamation suit in the United States after losing a separate libel action against The Sun in London in November 2020 for branding him a “wife-beater.”
