Governor Punjab declines to accept the oath of office from Hamza’s government.

LAHORE, Pakistan — According to Channel News, the Governor of Punjab, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, has opted not to accept the oath of office from the newly elected Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif’s cabinet.

According to reports, Governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema declared that he cannot take an oath from the unlawful cabinet of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif.

Furthermore, the Governor has arranged an emergency news conference for 5 p.m. today, claiming that it will provide critical information.

It is worth noting that on the orders of the Lahore High Court, Speaker of the National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf administered the oath of office to CM-elect Hamza Shahbaz (LHC).

Senior leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), including Maryam Nawaz, and other party officials attended the event, which was held at Governor House in Lahore.

After taking the oath, Hamza proceeded to the CM House, where he was greeted with a guard of honour.
The LHC has directed the National Assembly Speaker to administer the oath of office to Hamza Shahbaz Sharif as Chief Minister of Punjab.

On April 16, Hamza was chosen as Punjab’s chief minister. Despite the LHC’s directions not to delay the process any more, his oath-taking was postponed thrice.
