Pakistan has been hit hard by power outages due to the scorching heat, with Pakistanis experiencing up to 12 hours of power disruptions.
Load-shedding has been severe in all urban centres, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Sialkot, while the situation in rural portions of the country is far worse.
According to sources, the electricity gap has climbed to nearly 5,500 MW, with 19,465 MW being generated against a demand of 25,997 MW.
