LAHORE – Imran Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said on Thursday that the role of the court is critical in the party’s ambition to call quick elections.
When addressing to a delegation of media, Mr Khan recognised the legal community, adding, “Only the court understood the route of constitutional supremacy.”
Mr Khan said on his party’s participation in the All Parties Conference (APC): “I would first await the government’s decision on whether to hold the APC on the issue of terrorism. Then I’ll determine whether or not to attend the meeting.”
Mr Khan warned of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), “Agreement with the IMF would bring a fresh wave of inflation in the country.”
He emphasised the significance of overseas Pakistanis (OVPs), adding, “They might rescue the nation from economic distress.”
Mr Khan slammed the administration on “keeping the greenback overseas”. Mr Khan blasted PML-N senior vice president Maryam Nawaz, stating, “Efforts to promote Maryam in Pakistan were thwarted by mistaking her for Miss Mandela.”
He also challenged PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif to visit Pakistan to see his popularity.
