ISLAMABAD (Channel News) : A day after Barrister Gohar, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), declined to continue negotiating with the government until a judicial commission was established to look into the events of May 9 and November 26, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq called another meeting of the dialogue committee on Friday, January 28.
The PTI was also invited to the meeting, according to Senator Irfan Siddiqui, the government’s dialogue committee spokesperson, but the party declined to attend and did not provide a formal answer.
However, Gohar said that PTI founder Imran Khan had ordered the party to withdraw from the current negotiations, while Omar Ayub, the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly, stated the government had no authority to contribute anything to the talks.
It should be mentioned that the founder of the PTI declared that the talks with the government would finish before the judicial committee that his party had asked was established.
