MUZAFFARABAD, — Due to an increase in coronavirus infections throughout the nation, district authorities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) issued a ten-day tourism ban on Thursday.

The restriction will be in effect from July 19 to July 29, according to the specifications. Hotel reservations have also been cancelled.

Vaccinated persons, on the other hand, would be permitted to attend tourist attractions, according to Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services Faisal Sultan.

The decision was made after Pakistan reported 47 deaths from new coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of positive cases to 981,392. The number of people killed in the United States has risen to 22,689.

In the last 24 hours, 2,545 people tested positive for COVID-19, according to the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).

Punjab continues to be the province with the highest number of deaths, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The pandemic has claimed the lives of 10,852 people in Punjab thus far. Sindh has 5,647, KP has 4,377, Islamabad has 787, Azad Kashmir has 596, Balochistan has 317, and GB has 113.

Also confirmed were 351,006 coronavirus cases in Sindh, 349,111 in Punjab, 139,960 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 84,083 in Islamabad, 28,588 in Balochistan, 21,481 in Azad Kashmir, and 7,163 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has tested 15,248,785 coronaviruses thus far, including 48,910 in the previous 24 hours. In the country, 916,373 people have recovered, while 2,336 remain in serious condition.
