KARACHI, Pakistan – Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), said on Monday that the role of local body representatives is critical for the prompt settlement of public concerns.
He made these remarks while presiding over a key meeting at Bilawal House, where he was briefed on the local government system by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and provincial ministers.
Bilawal Bhutto was informed that development on a new system for local bodies is now underway, which would result in increased powers for local government delegates.
Faryal Talpur, President of the PPP Women Wing, was also present at the conference.
PPP Sindh President Nisar Khuhro, PPP Chairman’s Political Secretary Jamil Soomro, Provincial Ministers Saeed Ghani and Nasir Hussain Shah, as well as advisors to CM Sindh Manzoor Hussain Wasan and Murtaza Wahab, MPA Sohail Anwar Siyal, former provincial minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, and Shiraz Rajpar, were present.
