Haris Sohail has been ruled out of England’s One-Day Internationals due to a hamstring injury.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Thursday that middle-order batsman Haris Sohail has been ruled out of the England trip owing to a hamstring injury.

The cricket board stated in a statement that an MRI on Wednesday revealed Haris had suffered a “grade three tear damage” during a training session in Derby last week.
“The PCB medical panel has recommended that the left-handed middle-order batsman undertake a four-week rehabilitation programme before undergoing a review,” it said.
Haris will return to Pakistan to complete a rehabilitation programme at the National High Performance Centre in Lahore after being picked for only the One-Day Internationals.

Haris expressed his delight at the news, saying he had been looking forward to the ODIs in order to solidify his place in the team.

“I am unhappy that my trip has been cut short,” he stated. “However, I will return to Lahore and begin a rehabilitation programme in order to completely recover in time for the 2021-22 season.”
Since 2012, Haris has missed many trips due to injury, including series against India, Sri Lanka, and South Africa. He didn’t show up for the England trip last year, reportedly because he didn’t want to travel during the Covid-19 epidemic.
