ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – The government authorised an increase in the price of fuel by Rs5.40 per litre on Thursday.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has authorised a modest Rs 5.40 per litre rise in the price of fuel in the public interest, according to Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Communications Dr Shahbaz Gill, who made the news on Twitter.
Diesel prices have risen by Rs 2.54 per litre, while Light Diesel Oil prices have risen by Rs 1.27 per litre.
In response to the OGRA’s recommendations on petroleum product pricing, Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to offer assistance to the people.
In light of growing petroleum product costs in the worldwide market for several months, the OGRA suggested a rise in the price of petrol of Rs 11.40 per litre.
