PM Imran Khan tells Ashraf Ghani that blaming Pakistan for the Afghan crisis is “very unjust.”

On Friday, Prime Minister Imran Khan urged Afghanistan to view Pakistan as a “peace partner” rather than blame it for the present upheaval, which he described as the “result of the US using a military approach rather than a diplomatic one.”

“It is absolutely unjust to blame Pakistan for what is happening in Afghanistan…

“Peace in Afghanistan is our top priority,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated in response to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani’s speech at the Congress Centre on “Central and South Asia Regional Connectivity, Challenges and Opportunities.”

During his speech, the Afghan president made false accusations against Pakistan, claiming that 10,000 Pakistani fighters had infiltrated into Afghanistan.

“We would battle the Taliban if talks fail,” Ghani warned. “This is the final opportunity for peace.”

Rejecting President Ghani’s accusations that Pakistan was “not backing peace,” Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif declared unequivocally that Pakistan did not desire upheaval in its neighbourhood since peace was in its own best interests.

“I want to make it plain to you, Mr. Ghani, that Pakistan would be the last country to encourage instability and chaos in Afghanistan,” he added.
