According to HEC, four-year BS and two-year associate degree programmes would not be postponed.

According to the Higher Education Commission, the four-year BS and two-year associate degree programmes have not been postponed and have already begun at various affiliated colleges across Pakistan (HEC).


On the request of the Vice Chancellors Committee, the implementation of the Undergraduate Education Policy 2020 — which includes the four-year BS and two-year associate degree programmes — has been postponed at several institutions until the autumn of 2022.


Universities that have previously accepted the education policy, on the other hand, can continue to execute it.
The HEC had urged institutions to adopt the policy no later than January 2021 on August 12 of last year.

HEC spokesman Ayesha Ikram said, “Both the associate degree and the four-year BS programmes are intact and will continue as before.”
