Independence Day Nation celebrates with zeal and joy

ANNULA – Independence Day is celebrated today by the nation with a fresh commitment to working with Pakistan’s minds and to build Pakistan a real Islamic welfare state.

The day began with 31 guns in the federal capital and 21 guns in the provincial central office.

Prayers are given for Pakistan’s safety and growth as well as people’s well-being.

The primary element of the programme was President House Islamabad’s national banner hoist ceremony with Chief Guest, President Dr. Arif Alvi.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said Pakistan stands high on the committees of countries today.

Prime Minister Imran Khan stated in his speech, when raising our national flag on Independence Day, that we must repeat the commitment that Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah has made to maintain the principles of unity, faith, and discipline.

Imran Khan said Pakistan paid a hefty price for its western borders for huge sacrifices and instability.

He added that we have always emphasised that the Afghanistan problem does not have a military solution. A negotiated political approach to sustainable peace and stability in Afghanistan will continue to be supported by Pakistan.

He added that in our socio-economic strategy we desire peace inside and peace beyond. Naya Pakistan’s focus has changed from geopolitics to geo-economics, the welfare and well-being of our people being the main priority.
