SUKKUR : Syed Khursheed Shah, the head of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), was freed on parole on Friday night to attend his sister-in-burial, law’s according to CNP.

Khursheed Shah and his son Farrukh Shah were released on parole from Central Jail Sukkur for 12 hours to attend the burial of a close relative (Khursheed Shah’s sister-in-law) in Karachi, according to reports.

It’s worth noting that Khursheed Shah was transferred from NICVD Hospital to Central Jail Sukkur earlier in the day.

On September 18, two years ago, the NAB detained a PPP leader in Islamabad. He was sent to a cardiac facility a few days after his arrest, where he was treated.

On June 12, his son Farrukh Shah was apprehended by the National Accountability Bureau when he submitted to a Sukkur court on Supreme Court instructions.

Later, he was brought before an accountability court in a matter involving assets that were not traceable to him. A corruption complaint has been launched against him, his father, and other relatives by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau. Apart from Khursheed, who is the main accused, his two wives, two sons, two nephews, contractors, and suspected frontmen are also named as co-accused.
