ISLAMABAD – On Friday, Prime Minister Imran Khan emphasised the importance of the international community standing in solidarity with the Afghan people, engaging positively, and creating incentives to ensure a peaceful, stable, and inclusive government.
He mentioned this during a meeting with Dominic Raab, the British Foreign Secretary, who paid him a visit in Islamabad on Friday. Climate change, South Asian peace and stability, and the global geopolitical environment were also considered.
The significance of a peaceful, safe, and stable Afghanistan for Pakistan and the region was also emphasised by PM Imran.
The prime minister has asked the international community to show support for the Afghan people, participate in constructive dialogue, and provide incentives to ensure a peaceful, stable, and inclusive government.
Imran Khan also warned against “spoilers” inside and outside Afghanistan, who may destabilise the country.
For Pakistan and regional stability, he stressed the need of a peaceful, secure, and stable Afghanistan.
The premier emphasised the need of stabilising Afghanistan’s security situation, taking efforts to solidify peace, and preventing a mass migration. Preventing humanitarian crises and stabilising the economy were the top priorities in this situation.
The PM also made the UK side aware of the heinous human rights crimes occurring in India’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the cruel taking away of Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s lifeless remains.
On the bilateral aircraft, Imran Khan emphasised the two nations’ long-standing friendship and strong people-to-people relationships.
He also expressed worry over Pakistan’s continued inclusion on the Red List, which he believes is causing problems for dual nationals.
